Momax AP1S 2 Healthy IOT 2-in-1 Air Purifier & Dehumidifier Review: Up to the expectation

We got our hands on the Momax 2-in-1 air purifier with dehumidifier. It purifies the air by filtering and capturing the dust. It comes with it’s own application in Apple App store and Google Play Store.

Let us take a look at the specification:

It's size is not huge, around 22cm tall. Perfect size for a bedside table. It is available in white colour only. In our opinion, it is an ivory white. We would actually prefer that because white will eventually turn yellowish.

It comes with a filter which you are able to slot into the machine itself. It is stated as a H13 HEPA and active carbon filter on paper. You can vacuum clean the filter once in a while. Remember to keep it dry, as stated in their instruction booklet.

Momax AP1S dehumidifier is part of Momax's family of smart products that are compatible with Momax Smart APP that is available in both Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

We followed the intuitive step-by-step instructions within the app and we added the the humidifier to our list quite easily. It allows the the humidifier to connect to your house WIFI network. 

You can even control it when you are not at home. You can simply switch it on before you get home.

You can also create you own smart scenes and automations for your device. Such as it automatically switch itself on after sunset and switch itself off when sunrise.

OFF MODE: Simply tap once on the Purify button to switch on the Momax AP1S.

SLEEP MODE: Tap on the Dehum button to have the air purification and dehumidification processes working at the same time. You can deactivate the dehumidification function off but not the air purification function.

HIGH MODE: Tap on the Mode button the fire it up! High mode will adjust the fan speed, resulting in vigorous purifying and dehumidifying.

High Mode will result in a much louder fan noise. We found it to be almost as loud as an average car air conditioning running at full blast.

We kept it at Sleep Mode most of the time. It works silently in the background, sometimes we forgot to switch it off.

You can use the capacitive touch controls instead if you do not wish to operate it by your mobile devices. Of course you will lose the customisation function, etc that you are able to find in the Momax Smart APP.

The container that collects the water from the dehumidifier is located at the back. It is a tray which you can pull it out.

This is the amount of water the dehumidifier has collected after an average 7 hours of sleep. You are required to empty the water.

The dehumidifying function will stop automatically when the water collected is filled to the brim.

We have it switched on for an average of 12 hours daily. We have to empty the water on a daily basis. We find it hassle-free, just slide the tray out and slide it back after you empty it.

And we forgot to mention the beautiful blue glow when you activate the dehumidifier.

Our Verdict

We have no complain about the performance. Does perfectly as advertised. We are quite taken aback by the amount of water it has dehumidified. And sometimes we have forgotten about it's existence when it works so silently when it is on the Sleep Mode.

Would we actually recommend it? Yes, of course we do. If you are looking for a decent air purifier with dehumidification function, do give it a serious consideration. On top of that, we think that is is very affordable.
